    北海道大学We developed four education programs for graduate students, that include a workshop to improve facilitation skills by making students have experience of designing and managing small-scale science cafe, and a internet-based curriculum to help students learn how to write scientific literature. We also developed education materials that incorporates such method as card sorting and fictional persona. Lastly, we developed some methods of evaluating education programs.

    北海道大学In the present study, we intended to clarify a metabolism of trace metals, which affected central nervous system activity. With various cultured cells, we examined changes of a metallochaperone of copper, CCS, Cu,Zn-SOD, which received copper from CCS, and Ctr1, which was copper transporter in a copper lack and too much states. In a copper lack state, the quantity of protein of CCS and Cu,Zn-SOD increased.     北海道大学To study changes in synaptic morphology associated with steroid concentration, we visualized synaptic structures with high resolution imaging of confocal microscopy in hippocampal slices of adult rats. Synaptic structures are labeled by micro injection of a concentrated oil solution of Dil into the superfused slice as reported previously. Dye droplets are removed after 20 min.     北海道大学In this project the authors designed a computer-controlled apparatus to evaluate fatigue. The design of this apparatus was based on the TAF test, which was originated 20 years ago. Measuring VRT, a subject was instructed to follow a dot target with a cross-shaped marker controlled by a paddle, and to superimpose the marker on the target.
