    Japanese, The incineration technology supporting the intermediate treatment of solid waste has developed along with air pollution control technologies for exhaust gases. This paper introduces the technological evolution and trends in the treatment and emission control of nitrogen oxides, acidic gases (hydrogen chloride and sulfuric oxide), mercury, and organic compounds, based on presentations made at the Annual Conference of JSMCWM since the early 2000s when the prototype of exhaust gas treatment systems was nearly completed. Regarding nitrogen oxides, the prospects of combustion technologies and selective non-catalytic reduction, as well as expectations for integration with dioxin countermeasures were discussed. In the dry scrubbing of acidic gases, challenges related to unreacted alkali agents were addressed, along with several countermeasures. Related to the removal of mercury and mercury compounds, control technologies utilizing activated carbon were highlighted. Besides, the characteristics and challenges of thermal treatment of PFAS were discussed.

    Japanese, At present, to reduce the volume of decontamination waste, thermal treatment is carried out. In the thermal treatment, cesium (Cs) is volatilized and separated, resulting in fly ash containing much radioactive Cs. Cs in this fly ash is a chloride and is soluble. For safe final disposal, it is preferable that Cs in fly ash is insoluble. In this study, applying the mechanism that alkali feldspar makes Cs insoluble under heating conditions, whether the efficiency of insolubilization of Cs in fly ash improves was investigated by using rotary kiln. Indian feldspar, fly ash, and cesium chloride were mixed and heated at 700°C in a rotary kiln. No effect of rotating speed on Cs insolubilization was observed. After heating at 4 rpm of rotating speed and 700°C of temperature for 15 hours, 99% of the added cesium became insoluble. Even the addition ratio of Indian feldspar is reduced to about 80% of the amount of fly ash, by heating the mixture for 15 hours, 96% insolubilization of Cs was achieved.
  • PRODUCTION OF POROUS SODIUM CARBONATE USING VACUUM THERMAL TREATMENT OF SODIUM BICARBONATE FOR TREATMENT OF MUNICIPAL SOLID WASTE INCINERATION FLUE GAS

    Japanese, In this study, it was investigated that a method for producing porous sodium carbonate from coarse sodium bicarbonate by using vacuum thermal treatment instead of pulverization for the high efficiency of dry-scrubbing of solid waste incineration flue gas. The porous sodium carbonate was obtained by vacuum thermal treatment of coarse sodium bicarbonate which having a higher specific surface area than that was produced by heating the pulverized sodium bicarbonate under normal pressure at 180℃. From the results of SEM analysis and pore distribution analysis, it was found that the lower the pressure, the larger the mesopore and the specific surface area. The acid gas removal performance of the produced porous sodium carbonate increased as the specific surface area increased. In addition, the moisture in the gas leads to an increase in acid gas removal efficiency of porous sodium carbonate.

    Japanese, An industrial waste incineration facility reported that the pressure drop in a bag filter (BF) was reduced by spraying phosphoric acid wastewater (PAW) into an incinerator. In order to investigate the effect of PAW spraying on reducing BF pressure drops, 1)the past operation data of the above incineration plant was analyzed and 2)PAW spraying experiments were carried out at the same incineration plant. From the analysis of past operation data, the reproducibility of BF pressure drop reduction by PAW spraying was confirmed. Furthermore, the phosphoric acid contained in PAW was considered to cause the BF pressure drop reduction. From the results of PAW spraying experiments, it was found that the pressure drop reduction was caused by improving the gas permeability of the dust layer on the fabric as well as increasing the amount of fly ash dislodged from the BF by spraying PAW. Phosphoric acid might contribute to increasing the particles size and the aggregation of fly ash. A decrease in electric power consumption at the induced draft fan was also confirmed during PAW spraying. PAW spraying is expected to be an effective method for reducing the operating costsof waste incineration facilities.

    English, Scallop entrails include a lot of nutrient such as nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium, which contain toxic heavy metal such as cadmium in digestive gland. In this work, the current situation of scallop entrails recycling was investigated. Besides, hydrothermal treatment using subcritical water (HTSW) was examined as a recovery method of liquid fertilizer from scallop entrails. 59 wt% of scallop entrails was recycled by composting and 34 wt% of that was recycled by feedstuff manufacturing respectively. In composting facilities, scallop entrails have been commonly mixed with other input wastes to adjust cadmium concentration of compost under 5 mg/kg. Some facilities have proven to be suffered from lack of input waste to mix with scallop entrails in some case. On the other hand, at the HTSW of scallop entrails and digestive gland in the condition of 200oC, RT=20 min, and L/S ratio=10, the extraction of fertilizer components such as nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium to liquid product was maximized whereas the release of cadmium tended to be suppressed. The concentrations of heavy metals were lower than maximum permissible concentration of Fertilizer Regulation Act. From these results, HTSW was considered as one of feasible recycling methods for scallop entrails with separating cadmium from product.
  • Dechlorination of mono-chlorobenzene in flue gas of municipal solid waste incinerator using activated clay

    In MSWI, various treatment processes are performed for decreasing fly ash, acid gas, heavy metals and dioxins. Nowadays, the review of each processes and the development of new technologies are done because it is needed to restraint emission of environmental pollutant substances and optimization of running cost and energy in the flue gas treatment. As one of them, the high temperature dust collection using the ceramic filter is expected to decrease running cost and energy in the plant, owing to omit the process of gas cooling and reheating. In this study, it was investigated that the decomposition availability of dioxins by dechlorination using activated clays as inorganic matters substituted for activated carbon at 300oC, the dust collecting operation temperature. As the basic study of it, using activated clays made in Japan, it was confirmed the removal rate of mono-chlorobenzene, the removal special characteristic and the effect of dechlorination, depending on temperature conditions.As a result, activated clays are divided according to their ability of dechlorination.

    Japanese, 最近、地球温暖化、化石資源の枯渇、廃棄物の適正処理・処分などの問題をめぐり、バイオマスや廃棄物に各種の熱化学的転換技術を適用して物質やエネルギーを回収しようとする研究が活発に行われている。本研究では、廃棄物の主な成分がバイオマスとプラスチックであることから、その割合が異なる廃棄物試料を用い、熱分解およびガス化反応の重要な運転パラメータであるキャリアガスと温度条件を変化させ、実験を行った。その結果、得られた生成物であるガスと炭化物を定性・定量し、各条件における生成物の物質収支と炭素およびエネルギー回収率などを把握して資源循環利用の目的に適する運転条件を求めるための基礎データとして活用しようとした。

    2024 - 2024, Cs leaching was evaluated by a long-term leaching test on cement-geopolymer (GP) solidified Cs adsorbed zeolite (natural mordenite), a candidate for final disposal of fly ash generated from thermal treatment of decontaminated waste. The leaching tests were conducted in accordance with the ANSI 16.1 method, replacing the solvent in appropriate interval. In addition, changes in Cs leaching behavior due to freezing and thawing of the specimens and immersion in seawater were evaluated, assuming specimen degradation and contact with high-salinity solution, which are expected in an actual disposal environment. As a result, it was clarified that Cs leaching from the cement/GP solidified Cs adsorbed zeolite is determined by diffusion in the solid phase. Freeze-thawing did not affect the Cs leaching rate, but when the specimen was immersed in sea water Cs leaching was accelerated. When the cement solidified body was immersed in seawater, Cs leaching was suppressed by surface precipitates. The cumulative Cs elution rate was below 0.6% even after 100 days of immersion in seawater, and the incremental Cs concentrations in leachant were within the order of concentration standards in environmental water. The results indicate that zeolites can be promising candidate as a final disposal form that retains Cs for a long period of time.
  • Comparison of NOX emission behavior for air- and oxyfuel- combustion of solid waste in a vertical combustor

    2024 - 2024, In the context of global warming, various efforts are being made to reduce GHG emissions in the waste sector. CCUS of CO2 in exhaust gas can be one of the effective methods. Oxyfuel combustion has attracted attention as a new combustion method, in which a mixture of oxygen and exhaust gas is injected into the furnace for combustion. Various studies of oxyfuel combustion have been conducted in Japan toward the commercialization of oxyfuel combustion power plants, , mainly at thermal power plants and its effect of reducing NOX emissions has been reported. In the case of waste combustion, fuel NOX accounts for the majority of the NOX generated, and the effect of reducing NOX by oxyfuel combustion is not clear. In this study, we investigated the NOX generation characteristics of air and oxyfuel combustion of waste through laboratory experiments and simulations using a vertical stoker-type incinerator as a model. As a result, no significant difference was found in the amount of NOX generated by both air and oxyfuel combustions. One of the reasons is thought to be that the effect of reduction of thermal NOX by oxyfuel combustion is relatively decreased in the operating temperature range of waste incinerators.
  • Characterization of char derived from solid wastes with CO2 as career gas

    2024 - 2024, Carbonisation is focused as a carbon recycling and carbon storage technology for waste. The resulting char can be used for a variety of purposes. The ash-rich char also has the effect of making solid carbon more persistent and storing it in the ground. In conventional carbonisation, nitrogen is used as a carrier gas, pyrolysis gas is burnt and the combustion gas is returned to the carbonisation furnace and used as a carrier gas (heat source) for carbonisation. When the carrier gas is carbon dioxide and the combustible gas is burnt with oxygen, the main component of the combustion gas is carbon dioxide, which can be used as a carrier gas for carbonisation and as a CCUS for exhaust gas, even negative emissions of carbon can be expected. In this study, the characteristics of carbides produced with carbon dioxide as a carrier gas were evaluated from the two axes of carbon recycling (fuel and material utilisation) and carbon storage (pre-processing before landfill), comparing them with carbides produced with nitrogen carrier gas. Under the conditions of the present study, the carbides obtained were almost the same as those produced by conventional carbides.
  • Effect of high concentration of CO2 in waste Incineration flue gas on HCl and SOx removal rate

Since the main component of the exhaust gas in this combustion method is CO2, high concentrations of CO2 can be directly recovered without separating N2 gas, which is a great advantage for reducing total CO2 emissions. In this study, acid gas removal experiments using slaked lime were conducted in a lab-scale experiment simulating a dust collector to investigate the effect of applying oxygen combustion to a waste incineration facility on conventional acid gas dry removal. As a result, it was confirmed that the acid gas removal rate decreased due to the reaction between slaked lime and CO2 under high temperature conditions, suggesting that the simultaneous application of oxygen combustion and high temperature dust collection may reduce the acid gas removal efficiency.

    2023 - 2023, Oxyfuel combustion is one of promising solid waste incineration methods as part of CCUS technology in response to the global warming issue. Since the main component of the exhaust gas is CO2 by supplying pure oxygen with recirculated exhaust gas to the furnace instead of combustion air, the high concentrations of CO2 can be directly recovered without separating N2 gas, which is a great advantage for reducing total CO2 emissions. In this study, thermogravimetric analysis and kinetics analysis of RDF pyrolysis and char combustion were conducted under CO2 and N2 atmosphere to investigate the effect of oxyfuel combustion on waste incineration in a vertical stoker-type furnace. As a result, no significant differences were observed in pyrolysis and combustion behavior depending on two different atmospheric gases. The results of kinetics analysis showed that the kinetics triplets tended to be somewhat larger when CO2 gas was used for reaction, but the difference was not so great especially for char combustion. It was concluded that the decomposition rate of the sample was dominated by the O2 gas rather than N2 or CO2 gas during combustion.
  • Effect of intermittent water vapor addition on the removal efficiency of HCl and SOX in dry scrubbing of waste incineration flue gas

    2023 - 2023, In this study, the direct addition of water vapor to the waste incineration flue gas was investigated to improve the acid gas removal efficiency of dry scrubbing using slaked lime. Using a laboratory-scale experimental apparatus simulating a bag filter (BF), the effect of water vapor addition conditions on the reaction mechanism of slaked lime and acid gas as well as the acid gas removal rate was evaluated. As a result, the removal efficiency of hydrogen chloride was most improved when the water vapor was added by the 200% of the amount of slaked lime deposited on the BF. However, the improvement of the removal efficiency of sulfur oxides was not observed under the coexistence of hydrogen chloride even in the same condition of water vapor addition. For the application of this method to the actual dry scrubbing system, further investigation should be performed in relation to the operating conditions such as the numbers and intervals of water vapor addition.

    2022 - 2022, 重曹を用いた酸性ガスの乾式処理において、高い除去率を得るために行っていた重曹の微粉化の代わりに重曹を粉砕せず真空加熱し多孔質の炭酸ナトリウムをあらかじめ製造し、酸性ガス処理に用いる方法を検討した。その結果、圧力が多孔質炭酸ナトリウムの比表面積に支配的な製造条件であり、低圧のほど重曹の分解で生成したガスが固体表面から放出しやすくなり、より細かい細孔が発達することが確認できた。比表面積4m²/g以上の炭酸ナトリウムであれば、既存の微粉重曹と同等の酸性ガス除去性能が得られること、なおかつ、そのような多孔質炭酸ナトリウムは粗重曹を180℃、50kPaでの真空加熱で製造できることがわかった。
  • Clarification of the chemical form of lead in fly ash insolubilized by co-heating with aluminosilicate

    2022 - 2022, Fly ash generated from municipal solid waste incinerator contains high concentrations of hazardous heavy metals. So it must be treated to inhibit their leaching for final disposal. In previous study, it was confirmed that cesium leaching was significantly suppressed after co-heating with aluminosilicates. Cesium was captured in amorphous phase and insolubilized. When this method was applied to municipal solid waste incineration fly ash, a decrease in lead leaching concentration was also confirmed. However, since lead forms hydroxide precipitates at high pH, it is not clear whether the reduction in leaching concentration is due to trapping by aluminosilicates or precipitation formation. The objective of this study was to clarify the chemical form of lead after co-heating with aluminosilicates. After heating of the mixture of aluminosilicates and fly ash and removing soluble lead, pH-dependence test was performed. As a result, the lead leaching concentration increased with decreasing pH, and there was no difference in the elution concentration with and without co-heating. Thus, decrease of leaching concentration of lead after co-heating with aluminosilicates is not capturing but just formation of hydroxides.

    2021 - 2021, ごみ焼却より発生する焼却灰と飛灰成分の約2割はカルシウムである。しかし、飛灰中のCa化合物は酸性ガスとの反応生成物が主成分であることに対し、焼却灰はCaCO3、CaO、Ca鉱物類が主成分であり、その中でもCaO、CaCO3は酸性ガス除去に有効な成分である。本研究ではごみ焼却排ガス処理に使用される消石灰の代替として焼却灰を用いる案を検討した。300 µm以下の水冷後の焼却灰(Ca含有量:39~46%)は,170℃にて消石灰の約6~8割に相当するHCl除去性能を示した。焼却灰のうちの有効成分として10~15%であるもののBF吹込み消石灰の一部を代替できる可能性が十分考えられる。一方、焼却灰の炉内噴霧は炉内での直接的なHCl除去には効果がないが、高温下でCa化合物がCaOに分解されることにより、排ガスとともに下流側に流れる際にHCl除去に寄与する可能性が示唆された。
  • Study on the capturing mechanism of Cs in fly ash by amorphized potassium feldspar

    2021 - 2021, Potassium feldspar captures Cs by co-heating with cesium-containing fly ash. The optimum temperature is 700 °C. However, it is unclear why Cs is captured at 700 °C. Therefore, in this study, amorphized potassium feldspar and CsCl were co-heated at various temperatures, and the form of each element contained in the residue after heating was analyzed. And the structural change in the heating process was also investigated. As a result, it was clarified that ion exchange occurred among them because almost the same amount of K and Na as Cs, which became poorly soluble, became easily soluble. The exchange reaction proceeded rapidly from around 400 ° C. From the XRD analysis of the heating process, although CsCl disappeared, the formation of KCl could not be confirmed, suggesting that a solid solution of Cs and K was formed. Furthermore, it was considered possible that these existed as amorphous rather than crystalline.
  • Study on the method to improve capturing efficiency of cesium in fly ash by co-heating with alkali feldspar

    2021 - 2021, Since cesium in fly ash generated from thermal treatment for volume reduction process is highly concentrated and easily soluble, it is effective to make cesium insoluble for safe disposal. In previous studies, insolubilization of cesium was achieved by co-heating fly ash containing cesium with alkali feldspar. In this reaction, potassium in feldspar exchanges with cesium in fly ash, and feldspar captures cesium into amorphous phase and makes cesium insoluble. In previous studies, though cesium capturing efficiency was more than 90%, it is desirable to increase the efficiency to nearly 100% because cesium that cannot be captured requires further treatment. In this study, methods to further improve cesium capturing efficiency were examined. It was supposed that cesium was not captured due to insufficient contact between potassium and cesium. Thus, whether the capturing efficiency could be increased by improving the contact condition was examined. As a result, it was found that premixing by planetary mill increased the contact opportunities between potassium and cesium and the capturing efficiency was increased to almost 100%. Furthermore, it was found that the capturing efficiency was improved by repeating heating and cooling.
  • Effect of internal conditions in the hazardous waste landfill on the leaching behavior of heavy metals in fly ash

    2021 - 2021, Hazardous waste landfill where waste exceeding the leaching criteria is disposed of doesn't allow rainwater or air are entering. As the results, waste may keep its leaching potential similar to that at the time of disposal. In this study, numerical calculations were performed in order to confirm whether or not the leaching suppression of heavy metals, which occurs in non-hazardous waste landfill, occurs, when the internal condition of hazardous waste landfill is intentionally controlled. The model used was a combination of a landfill simulator that mainly calculated degradation process of organic matter and a geochemical model (PHREEQC). MSW fly ash was subjected to the calculation. And although no intrusion of rainwater was set, the initial moisture content was set to be maintained during entire calculation period. In addition, regarding gas composition, CO2 concentration was changed for 350ppm, 50%, 80%, and 100%. The calculation was performed for 100 years. In case of Pb, the mineral species produced were Pb(OH)2, PbCO3, Pb3(OH)2(CO3)2. And the higher the CO2 concentration, the faster the time when PbCO3 becomes the main component. And the liquid phase concentration of Pb was dominated by it.

    2020 - 2020, Demolition work of Fukushima nuclear power plant is going to be commenced. Since the volume of contaminated waste concrete is estimated to be huge, volume reduction of it is required. In order to separate clean concrete from contaminated concrete, it is necessary to know how deep radionuclide invaded into concrete. Considering the dose rate, Cs-137 and Sr-90 deem to be important. However, they have different mobility, it is necessary to separate them. In the previous study, by focusing on the energy difference of beta-ray between them, separation was attempted putting a PET plate shield between the IP and the contaminated concrete sample, but the measurement with sufficient accuracy was not obtained. In this study, to improve the accuracy of separation, separation of Cs and Sr was attempted by using shields with different densities and thicknesses. The shielding ability is determined by the product of the density and the thickness. As a result of measurement for various set of shield and concrete samples which are exposed to Cs-137 and Sr-90, high separation accuracy was obtained when using a shield with high density and thin thickness.
  • Study on insolubilization of radioactive Cs in contaminated fly ash using aluminosilicate

    2020 - 2020, It has been confirmed in previous studies that aluminosilicate (alkali feldspar or feldspar synthetic reagent (sol reagent)) captures Cs in fly ash by co-heating and makes Cs insoluble. However, up to now, stable Cs has been used, and it has not been confirmed whether this capturing occurs even actual polluted ash containing radioactive Cs. Therefore, in this study, the co-heating experiment with aluminosilicate was conducted using the actual contaminated fly ash generated in Fukushima prefecture and the simulated contaminated ash added with radioisotope (Cs-137). As a result, the aluminosilicate captured Cs even if it was radioactive Cs, and makes Cs insoluble. It was confirmed that the capturing efficiency is higher as the amount of aluminosilicate is higher, and that if the aluminosilicate of about 3 times the amount of fly ash is added, Cs becomes insoluble state at an efficiency of 98% or more.
  • Long-term change of leaching behavior of hexavalent chromium contained in the refractory materials disposed at the hazardous waste landfill and its control measure

    2020 - 2020, The hazardous waste landfill site is required to appropriately store the harmful substances contained in the hazardous waste and prevent the discharge of them to the outside, semipermanently. From a long-term perspective, the risk of structural deterioration and disasters can be considered, but in such an event, the release of harmful substances must be avoided. A previous study investigating the waste actually accepted at the hazardous waste landfill site found that refractory bricks used in the melting furnace was major waste accepted. This is because the leaching concentration of hexavalent chromium exceeds the criterion. Therefore, in this study, we conducted a weathering acceleration experiment on refractory bricks from which hexavalent chromium leaches out, and examined the effect of environmental conditions in the hazardous waste landfill site on the dissolution behavior of chromium. As a result, it was confirmed that under humid conditions, the leaching of hexavalent chromium was significantly reduced.
  • Improvement of the capturing ratio of Cs in concentrates generated by volume reduction process using aluminosilicate

    2020 - 2020, The thermal treatment for volume reduction of decontamination waste generated by the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant accident has an issue that it generates fly ash containing easily soluble and high concentration of Cs. Since long-term safe storage of fly ash is required, to change the form of Cs from mobile to immobile is necessary. Co-heating fly ash containing Cs with aluminosilicate achieves insolubilization of Cs. However, the rate of insoluble Cs decreased as the fly ash amount increased. The aim of this study is to maintain the high rate of insoluble Cs even when the amount of fly ash increased. Since it was found that the alkaline element in the fly ash inhibited the capturing of Cs, we thought that by the addition of silicate minerals which don’t contain alkaline element (diatomaceous earth, kaolinite), they may capture the alkaline element. As a result, it was confirmed that these minerals are possible to capture alkali elements and increase the ratio of insoluble Cs. Especially, it was found that by adding kaolinite at a heating temperature of 800°C, the rate of insoluble Cs could be maintained at the highest rate.

    2020 - 2020, 焼却主灰の分析を行った先行研究において,可溶性金属と考えられているNa, Cl, K等の溶出率が非常に低いことがわかった。その原因の一つとして主灰の水冷後の炭酸化が挙げられ,生成したカルサイト(CaCO3)が主灰粒子を被覆し,塩類や重金属類の不溶化を引き起こしていると考えられた。仮説を検証するために,本研究では,告示13号溶出試験に加え,pH依存性試験,900℃加熱後の溶出試験を行い,溶出率の変化を調べた。しかし,Ca,ICの溶出率はpH依存性を示したことに対し,Na, K, Clの溶出率はpHに依存せずほぼ一定でお互いに溶出挙動が異なっており,炭酸化が直接的な原因とは言えない結果となった。一方,主灰の900℃加熱前後の溶出試験結果を比較すると,Na, K, Clにおいて加熱灰の溶出濃度が加熱前の約10%まで低下するなど,焼却過程における主灰の溶融度合が塩類の溶出に大きく影響していると推察された。

    2019 - 2019, 竪型ストーカ炉は,一定高さで堆積させたごみを炉下から低空気比の一次燃焼空気を供給することで熱分解し,発生した熱分解ガスを二次燃焼空気より効率よく燃焼するものである。消石灰による処理前から排ガス中塩化水素濃度が低く,炉内のごみ層の中でアルカリ金属より捕捉された可能性が考えられた。しかし,竪型ストーカ炉の主灰への塩素移行量を調査した結果,30%程度であり,従来ストーカ炉との差は認められなかった。一方,竪型ストーカ炉の排ガス中塩化水素濃度の測定結果から,塩化水素の捕捉は主に焼却炉と再燃焼室,さらには減温塔の間で起こっていると示唆された。そこには,ばいじん中の酸化カルシウムと塩化水素の反応が関与している可能性が考えられた。本現象が竪型ストーカ炉特有のものであるかは今後の課題である。従来ストーカ炉においても同様の調査を行い,炉内での塩化水素低減メカニズムを明らかにする必要がある。

    2016 - 2016, ごみ焼却施設における消石灰を用いた酸性ガスの除去において、HClと消石灰の反応生成物はCaCl2であると考えられてきたが、近年の研究では中間生成物のCaClOHが確認されている。この反応の進行具合によってはHClの除去量に差が生じ、排ガス処理の効率性とコストに影響を及ぼす。よって本研究では実際の焼却施設を対象として、排ガス処理に関するアンケート調査と飛灰の化学分析を行い、消石灰とHClとの反応生成物の形態、ならびにその形態に影響を与える条件を調査した。結果、実稼働中の焼却施設においても、消石灰吹込み量やガス温度といった条件に関わらず、反応生成物はCaCl2ではなくCaClOHであることが判明した。その理由として、排ガス中のHCl濃度よりも過剰に吹き込まれた消石灰によってCaClOHの生成反応が優先されること、CaClOHとHClの反応速度が遅くCaCl2生成まで至らないことが挙げられた。

    2015 - 2015, 焼却施設における消石灰を用いた酸性ガスの除去反応は、一般的な化学反応とは異なり高温ほど高効率となるが、その理由は明確になっていない。また、HCl と消石灰の反応生成物はCaCl2であると考えられてきたが、近年の研究では中間生成物のCaClOHが確認されている。本研究では酸性ガスと消石灰の反 応機構と生成物の化合物形態を定性的・定量的に調べた。反応を模擬した平衡計算では、高温ほどCO2と消石灰が反応し、酸性ガスの除去反応が阻害された。 またラボ試験を行い、温度、水分、当量比と反応生成物量の関係を調べた。水分添加を行った条件では、低温域で酸性ガスの除去率が向上したが、温度と除去率 に負の相関は確認されなかった。また、CO2による明確な反応の阻害は確認されなかった。消石灰の使用量が多いほどHCl除去効率は向上したが、生成物の 大部分は中間生成物として存在し、消石灰を有効利用できていない可能性が示唆された。

    2014 - 2014, ごみ焼却施設において,大気汚染物質排出低減のために排ガス処理が行われている。そのうちバグフィルター(BF)は高いばいじん除去率のため広く使われている。しかしBFでの圧力損失(BF差圧)は,圧力損失全体の半分以上を占め,エネルギー消費やコストの増加につながっている。ある産業廃棄物処理施設において,処理物として受け入れたリン酸廃液を焼却炉内に噴霧した際に,BF差圧が低下したと報告があった。そこでリン酸廃液噴霧によるBF差圧低下原因の仮説を立て,実機試験を行った。その結果,リン酸廃液噴霧によってBFに流入するダストが増加しBFにリンが蓄積する一方で,BF差圧が低下することが確認された。またサンプリングしたBF落下灰の粒度分布を調べた結果,リン酸廃液噴霧中のものは噴霧前のものと比べ粒径が大きくなったことが分かった。従ってリン酸廃液噴霧によるダストの大粒径化が,BF差圧低下原因であることが示された。

    Vertical stocker type incinerator is a novel incinerator which performs efficient incineration with forming drying, pyrolysis, and combustion zones vertically in the waste layer. However, the operation experience of vertical stocker type incinerator is not long so its characteristics are not well-known. In this study, we focused on the self-denitrification reaction of NOX in the reducing atmosphere of the waste layer from the viewpoint of NOX removal in the exhaust gas in the vertical stoker type incinerator. The generation characteristics of NOX, HCN, and NH3 in the waste layer and the effects of oxygen concentration, temperature, coexisting combustible gases, etc. on the oxidation or reduction of HCN and NH3 in combustion chamber were clarified by the gas concentration measurement in an operating vertical stocker type incinerator, lab-scale experiments, and combustion simulation.

    MBT is a combination of mechanical, biological, and thermal process as an integrated system. Two MBT systems were studied: combined system of Anaerobic Digestion (AD) and incineration, and Biodrying MBT which is followed by mechanical separation to recover solid fuel. Field study was conducted in real-scale facility, where solid waste and output material were sampled, and material balance and energy balance were clarified. Lab-experiment of biodrying was also carried out to construct moisture removal model. By taking two other system, incineration and RDF production system, four systems were evaluated in terms of energy recovery and CO2 emission. By using data obtained in our study and from literature review, material flow were drawn, and energy balance was estimated. Finally, sensitivity analysis of main parameters was carried out to find factors which should be improved for higher energy recovery rate.
