WAN TSZ LOK

Institute for Catalysis Catalyst Material Research DivisionPostdoctoral Fellow

TSZ LOK WAN received his Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Queensland (UQ), Australia, in 2020. In 2024, he obtained his PhD from the Queensland University of Technology (QUT), Australia, in the field of ferroelectric materials, under the supervision of Professors Liangzhi Kou and Aijun Du. He then took up a postdoctoral fellowship with Prof. Zhehui Jin at the University of Alberta, Canada. He is currently a postdoctoral fellow in the Shimizu Laboratory at Hokkaido University, Japan, working with Professors Ken-ichi Shimizu and Takashi Toyao.

His research focuses on the fundamental aspects of catalyzed reactions relevant to clean and sustainable processes for the production of fuels and chemicals. The aim is to identify active sites and elucidate reaction mechanisms.

Tsz Lok Wan started his PhD research in July 2022 on the topic of "Ferroelectric controllable gas capture and catalysis for environmental and energy application". His project aims to theoretically explore high conversion efficiencies and controllable chemical reactions which hopefully provide clean energy and drastically reduce or even eliminate environmental impact. Since commencing his research studies, Tsz Lok has already published 3 papers in Q1, where all of them are with him as the first author. His recently published paper was selected for Adv. Mater Technol. Back cover., Others, Australia
