    本研究は極微量分子の定量分析を目指した新規ガス分析装置を開発することを目的としている。開発装置を用いてヒトが発する呼気を分析し、呼気中に含まれる各種分子の濃度分布を計測する。その濃度分布と疾病・疾患との相関を調べることで新規医療診断機器の開発を目指すものである。
    測定原理は、ガスを封入したセルに赤外光レーザー光を照射し、分子が光を吸収した場合の系内の微弱な圧力変化を、微差圧計測系で観測するものである。前年度に開発した計測装置を用いてシクロヘキサン(50ppm)及びアセトアルデヒド(100ppm)の赤外吸収スペクトルの計測に成功した。同様にアンモニア(100ppm)濃度のガス分析に成功し赤外吸収スペクトルを決定した。
    計測装置の感度向上を目指し、赤外レーザー光の強度依存性と出力信号強度の関係を調べたところ明確な比例関係が見られた。これは計測が一光子過程で進んでいることを示しており、本研究手法が有意に計測できていることを示している。一方で、レーザー光を反射ミラーを用いて多重反射させたところ、反射回数に比例して信号強度が上昇することが示された。これは高精度多重反射ミラーを設置し計測すれば計測感度を飛躍的に向上できることを示すものであり、今後、装置の改良を進める計画である。
    一方で、本計測手法に関する理論計算を実施した。その結果、実験値は理論値に比べ2桁程度低い値となった。これは熱伝搬による影響が大きく関係していることを示しており、今後、セルの形状や温度制御等の改良により計測感度が飛躍的に向上できることを示唆している。

    芳香族分子は水などの極性溶媒による溶媒和によって初めて負イオンとして存在することができるものが多く、その電荷分布と負電荷を保持するための水素結合ネットワーク構造に関して多くの興味が持たれている。そこで本年度も引き続き、芳香族分子-水クラスター負イオンの振動分光法を開発することを目的とした。そして、ベンゾニトリル-水から成る系に適用し、幾何構造および電荷分布の決定を試みた。
    振動分光に用いる赤外光、つまり3μm帯の発生には、2台のレーザーを組み合わせた差周波発生法を利用しているが、用いる波長によって赤外光への変換効率が違ってくる。また、負イオンの生成量は中性クラスターの場合と比較して非常に少ないために、より高強度な赤外光源が必要であった。したがって、今回の開発では、Nd^+:YAGレーザーの基本波(1064nm)と色素レーザー(757-810nm)とを組み合わせることで、従来の約2倍の赤外光強度を達成した。
    実際に適用したベンゾニトリル-水クラスター負イオンBnt(H_2O)_1^-について、振動スペクトルから以下のことがわかった。1)水分子のFree OHおよびニトリル基へのイオン性σ-水素結合に帰属されるバンドが現れた。後者はO-H変角振動の倍音とのフェルミ共鳴によって、バンドが2本に分裂し、その強度は前者の約3倍以上であった。2)ベンゼン環のC-H伸縮振動の相対強度は、Free OHとイオン性σ-水素結合OH振動の中間であり、中性および正イオンクラスターの傾向と大きく異なる。光電子分光の結果と併せると、水分子がC-N三重結合と同軸上に位置する幾何構造が支持され、余剰電荷はニトリル基の窒素原子に局在していると結論した。
