    本共同研究は、日本において1920年代に成立した「死」や「恐怖」を素材とするミステリが、20世紀以降の危機的事象（疫病、関東大震災、戦災、阪神淡路大震災、東日本大震災、原発事故…）をどのように受け止め応答しようとしたのかを究明する研究である。謎解きという高度に読者参加を要求するこのジャンルは、知的ゲームという娯楽性と、読者が作品にコミットする当事者性も備わっている。こうしたミステリの表現形式の特殊性と歴史的事象との関係性を通史的に分析することで、日本近現代ミステリ固有の危機表象の特質を明らかにする。
    こうした本共同研究の目的を踏まえ、2021年10月30日にZOOMによる第１回の科研会合を開催した。当該年度の研究計画の実施状況や各自の研究成果を報告し合い、さらに、来年度に向けて共同研究全体についての方向性や出版の企画等について討議した。
    2022年3月15日に花園大学において、第2回の科研会合及び研究報告会を開催した。研究代表者の押野武志は、「危機表象とミステリ」と題して基調報告を行い、その後、各研究分担者が研究報告を行った。横濱雄二は、「ミステリにおけるメロドラマ性についての検討」と題し、諸岡卓真は、「感染症とクローズドサークル――今村昌弘〈剣崎比留子〉シリーズを例に」ど題し、高橋啓太は、「社会派推理小説の説話的構造と戦後性――松本清張『砂の器』」と題し、井上貴翔は、「戦時下都市と探偵小説」と題し、それぞれ研究報告を行った。その後、来年度に向けての共同研究全体についての方向性の検討や研究成果の出版企画について話し合った。

  • Historical study of the Japanese detective story based on the correlation with the media environment

    This collaborative research is aimed at reexamining the characteristics of the modern Japanese detective story in the worldwide simultaneous modernism movements of the 1920s and is the long-term historical study which makes clear the development of a detective story from there to today paying attention to complicated relationship of negotiations with visual media such as the mass media and a movie as well as a relation between European detective story and Japanese literature.
    We paid more attention to the scientific discourse and technology of each time, the negotiations with the subculture, the media mix development of the detective story and clarified the change of the social positioning of the detective story by the new theory construction of the analysis concept.

    We arranged the problems of today's literary studies going back until 1968. And we clarified the complicated negotiations between modern Japanese literature and subculture, or the print media and the visual media. Particularly, we followed the change of reception and the evaluation of Haruki Murakami.
    We were not arrested by the past methodology and literature theory to build such a cross-sectional new modern Japanese history of literature. Therefore we aimed at a new analysis concept and the rebuilding of the literary theory corresponding to the digital society.

  • A Comprehensive Study of the Transformation of Literary Concepts in 1960s Japan

    In this research, we have undertaken a comprehensive investigation in order to show how literature in 1960s Japan was reconfigured within the multi-layered social, intellectual and political discourses of the time. Competing ideologies and concepts-pure literature/mass literature, culture/subculture, literature/politics, fact/fiction-generated new literary boundaries in the 1960s. We compare these concepts with multiple discourses from the late 1920s through the early 1940s to determine what elements are structurally reiterated in 1960s literature, thereby revealing the particular features of modern Japanese historical and intellectual discourses that span the pre- and post-WWII periods.

  • A Study Pluralistic Relations on Representing women between Cinema, Visual Image, Print Culture, and Literature through Comparative Studies France, China, and Japan

    This research conducted clarifies the following five points through a pluralistic investigation of the relationships between audio-visual expression, print culture, and literary expression.
    1, In order to demonstrate the differences between audio-visual expression and literary expression, a theoretical analysis on cinema and literature was conducted. Notably, a re-evaluation of theories related to structuralism and semiotics was carried out along with the re-construction of theories related to post modernism to illuminate the possibility for adaptation in cinema and literature.
    2, The historical transfiguration of the representing women from 1930's to 1990's becomes evident through an pluralistic examination of the relationships between films, paintings, photographs and icons in Modern Japan.
    3, The historical transfiguration of the representing women from 1930's to 1990's was clarified according to the interaction between literary expression and printed expression in Modern Japan.
    4, The historical similarities and differences of representing women between France, China and Japan from 1930's to 1990's was conducted clarifies through an pluralistic examination of the relationships between films, paintings, photographs and icons.
    5, A theoretical analysis on the results gender studies and feminist criticism was conducted for the deconstruction of the representing women.
