• 言語の禁止に抗して：二つの帝国下におけるウクライナ文化人の連携

  In book, ウクライナ民族的アイデンティティの形成は、ウクライナ語の歴史的発展と不可分に結びついている。18世紀末から第一次世界大戦まで、ウクライナはロシア帝国とハプスブルク帝国の間で分断され、独立国家を持たない状況に置かれた。この政治的分断は文化的停滞とエリート層のアイデンティティ危機をもたらした。19世紀後半、ロシア帝国ではヴァリュエフ通達およびエムス勅令によってウクライナ語の使用が厳しく制限された。一方、ハプスブルク帝国下のガリツィアでは民族運動と学術活動が発展し、公共・学術・政治組織の設立を通じて、ウクライナ語の正統性が主張された。その過程で、東西ウクライナに共通する標準語形成の基盤が築かれ、言語が民族的統合の核心的要素として位置づけられた。

  The history of Ukrainian orthography demonstrates consistency and continuity in the vernacularizing trend trend going back to the Old Ukrainian period (10th–14th cc.). While throughout history there were competing orthographic principles, Ukrainian orthography is based today primarily on phonetic and, to a lesser extent, morphological principles. Ukrainian orthography went through several attempts of elaboration in accordance with the phonetic principle, from Oleksij Pavlovsʹkyj’s system of 1805 through the rules introduced in the 19th century in both Austro-Hungarian and Russian Ukraine, to the modern system of spelling rules adopted as late as 2019. While discussing a variety of systems (maksymovyčivka, panʹkevyčivka, želexivka, drahomanivka), special emphasis is placed on the kulišivka script and modern spelling rules going back to the 1928/1929 orthography, which was subsequently banned during the Soviet regime., Walter de Gruyter GmbH, English, Others

• The History of Forming of the Adverbs of Place in the Ukrainian Language

The book examines their phonetic, derivational, semantic, and grammatical features and identifies adverbialization as a principal source of expansion of the adverbial system. Models of formation characteristic of different historical stages are analyzed, and the lexical-grammatical class of locative adverbs is classified according to derivational, morphological, and semantic criteria. Particular attention is devoted to the semantic dynamics of locative expressions and to the grammatical properties of this group across successive diachronic stages, from the Indo-European period to the modern language. A comparative and contrastive perspective highlights structural continuity and change within the adverbial system. The analysis is based on manuscript sources, early printed books, and published texts of the 11th–18th centuries representing various functional styles.   After World War II, a growing Ukrainian diaspora in Canada, the United States, Europe, and Australia accepted the Ukrainian language standards developed during the 1920s Ukrainization period. It opposed Ukrainian language standards in Soviet Ukraine due to their close relationship with the Russian language. As a result, between 1945 and 1990, Ukrainian language norms evolved separately in the diaspora and in Soviet Ukraine.
  Linguists in Soviet Ukraine worked to develop Ukrainian language standards that were close to those of Russian. In contrast, academics from the Ukrainian diaspora have made major contributions to the refining of orthographic and grammatical principles concerning the nature and historical development of the Ukrainian language. This presentation investigates the prescriptive works emerged in the Ukrainian diaspora between 1945 and 1991, which are thought to have had minimal influence from the Russian language. This study also examines the orthographical norms for loanwords and the letter ґ, which was deleted from the Ukrainian alphabet during the Soviet era. The study analyzes Ukrainian dictionaries, as well as orthographic and grammatical manuals created by the Ukrainian diaspora. This study will also focus on the application of orthographical and grammatical principles in media and literary works within the Ukrainian diaspora during that period.
